Howard Stephenson Oliver

Howard Stephenson Oliver, affectionately known as “Puffdaddy,” age 81, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born on August 14, 1944, in Troy, Alabama, to William Alexander Oliver and Pearl Faulk Oliver.

Howard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He faithfully attended Salem Baptist Church of Andalusia, Alabama and loved his church family dearly. He was a proud member of the Masonic organization, and Masonic rites will be observed during the funeral service. Howard loved people and never met a stranger. He dedicated 43 years of service working for the State of Alabama, retiring after many years of faithful employment.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gail Pouncey; daughter, Ginger (Royce) Ellis; son, Russell (Lauryn) Oliver; grandchildren, Wyatt Ellis, Russ Oliver, Ragan Ellis, Alex Oliver, and Becca Ann Oliver; Dawson Sasser; sister, Judy Nelson; stepdaughters, Kim Glidewell and Linda Stallworth; along with a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alexander Oliver and Pearl Faulk Oliver; brothers, Victor Oliver, Benny Oliver, Tommy Ray Oliver, Rex Oliver, and Rubin Oliver; and sisters, Donna Jacobs and Linda Duffell.

Pallbearers will be Wyatt Ellis, Russ Oliver, Alex Oliver, Chris Oliver, Hubie Garrett, and Mike Murphy.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3700 Alabama Hwy. 130, Brundidge, Alabama. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
